Mashamoquet Brook State Park is a great location for a day hike with well maintained trails and plenty of interesting sights. In addition to the brook you will want to visit Table Rock, Indian Chair and, of course, Wolf Den.  Numerous trees, vines and interesting rock formations can be found along the way.  Some of the grape and bittersweet vines are enormous and must be quite old.  The photos don't accurately depict the size.  Large clusters of mature mountain laurel can be found along several of the trails.  This walk was on a winter day and must be very different from the spring and summer when the plants are in bloom.  The loop trail is about 5 miles long and is a fairly easy hike with the exception of a few steep sections.
