KILLINGLY, CT - VIDEO - A short compilation of yesterday's visit to the Five Mile River and surrounding area.  With a 32 degree start to the day, I didn't expect to see much but the morning fog over the river is always irresistible.  Shortly after my arrival, a river otter swam within 20 feet of where I was sitting.  After spotting me it quietly disappeared below the surface without a sound.  Other sightings included northern flicker, red-winged blackbird, wood duck, eastern phoebe, chipping sparrow, tufted titmouse, great blue heron, pine warbler and a pair of blue-gray gnatcatchers.
