QUIET CORNER, CT - VIDEO - For the past couple of weeks large communal flocks of Common Grackles have been descending like black clouds near my home where noisy groups have been making the rounds between cornfields, hayfields and woods. These beautiful iridescent blackbirds are commonly found and considered a nuisance by some. Over the years I have captured numerous images of Grackles, as well as other blackbirds, mostly during the spring and summer when they can be seen in small groups just about everywhere. The below is a compilation of just a few of my favorites including a clip recently captured by a remote trail camera. Red-winged blackbirds can also be seen amongst the crowd in some of the still photos.
