It's hard to believe that in just two short weeks the air temperature has gone from 60 degrees to -14 here in Killingly.  February 1st was an unseasonably warm day when a small flock of Bluebirds came to visit and feast on nearby bittersweet berries.  Since then, the Bluebirds have vanished, but there has been no shortage of backyard birds in spite of the frigid weather.  The following is a compilation of sightings from the last two weeks with all of the usual characters as well as few surprises.  Photos include Pileated Woodpecker, Downey Woodpecker, Norther Flicker, Black-capped Chickadee, Tufted Titmouse, White-breasted Nuthatch, American Goldfinch, Blue Jay and Red-bellied Woodpecker.
