SIX MILE CYPRESS SLOUGH PRESERVE - Fort Myers, FL
Walking along the 1.2 mile boardwalk through Six Mile Cypress Sough is like traveling back in time to a prehistoric land. With abundant cypress trees, air plants and ferns the preserve has an otherworldly feel. The warblers were active the morning of our visit and provided numerous opportunities for photos. Photos below include a yellow-throated warbler and palm warbler. Walks can be self guided or led by volunteer naturalists. The reserve is managed by Lee County Parks and Recreation and admission is free. There is a $1.00 per hour parking fee.
